How to Take Body Measurements to Determine Your Body Type


Necessary materials:


  • A flexible measuring tape.

  • Paper and pen to write down the measurements.


Steps:


Height:

  • Stand with your feet together against a wall.

  • Measure from the top of your head to the floor.

Shoulder Width:

  • Keep your shoulders relaxed.

  • Measure from the highest point of one shoulder to the highest point of the other.

Bust:

  • Place the tape measure around the fullest part of your bust, making sure it is straight and level across your back.

Waist:

  • Find the narrowest part of your waist, usually just above your belly button.

  • Measure around this area, without tightening the tape measure too much.

High Hip:

  • Measure around the widest part of your hips, just below the waist, where the top of your pants normally sits.

Low Hip:

  • Slide the tape measure down to the widest part of your hips, usually around the middle of your butt.
